Some simple things to keep in mind to help pick up on a scam attempt:
Slow down; scammers create urgency to force quick decisions.
Never provide personal or financial information to an unsolicited caller.
Be suspicious of requests for gift cards, wire transfers, or prepaid debit cards.
Don’t trust caller ID alone; scammers can spoof names and numbers.

The newest lottery period is open through November 30, 2026, with randomly selected participants notified in early January. Whether you rent, own your home, or live in a multifamily property, you may be eligible if your household income falls within program guidelines.

September can bring severe thunderstorms, strong winds, and even early-season wet snowstorms to our mountain communities. These weather events can increase the likelihood of power outages and downed power lines.
If you come across a downed line, always assume it is energized and dangerous. Stay at least 35 feet away, warn others to keep their distance, and call 911 immediately. Never touch a downed line or anything it may be in contact with, including fences, trees, puddles, or vehicles.
