Holy Cross Energy Scholarships

We're proud to offer several scholarship opportunities for high school seniors graduating or receiving their GED.

Students must be enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited undergraduate educational or training institution (in-state or out-of-state).

Anyone with financial need is encouraged to apply, including those from marginalized communities, minorities, first-generation college students, and women. Open to all residents of the three primary counties within our service territory.

  • Open to high school seniors graduating or receiving their GED in spring 2024.
  • Students’ primary residence must be located in the HCE service territory (Pitkin, Garfield, and Eagle Counties).
  • Students must complete the online application below.
  • The application deadline is March 15, 2024

Lineworker Scholarship

One $5,000 scholarship

Recognizing our industry’s ongoing need for electrical lineworkers, we are proud to offer this scholarship to an individual interested in obtaining an Electric Lineworker Certificate at an approved school.

First-Generation College Student Scholarships

Four $2,500 scholarships

Recognizing that first-generation college students may need a little extra help funding their education, we’re proud to offer four scholarships for students who are the first in their family to attend college or university.

Women in STEM Scholarship

Two $2,500 scholarships

Recognizing the gender disparity in the STEM fields, these scholarships are open to female students pursuing a college degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.

Trade School Scholarship

Three $2,500 scholarships

Recognizing our region’s need for skilled workers, we are offering three $2,500 scholarships to students pursuing a degree or certification from a technical or vocational program. These programs may include, but not limited to, education in the electrical, HVAC, and mechanic fields.

100x30 Clean Energy Future Scholarship

One $2,500 scholarships

Our 100×30 Goal aims to provide our members with 100% clean energy by 2030, a move that will depend on our next generation of leaders. Open to all students planning on attending college or university, applicants must write an original essay about their unique vision on how our society can successfully transition to a clean energy future.
