Founded in 1939, Holy Cross Energy (HCE) is a not-for-profit rural electric co-op providing safe, reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy and services that improve the quality of life for more than 45,000 members in western Colorado.
HCE was built by a group of farmers in effort to bring electric services to rural areas. HCE belongs to the diverse communities and member-owners we serve and is committed to leading the responsible transition to a clean energy future. Its 100×30 goal is to provide members with 100% clean energy by 2030 and achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2035.
Today, our teams include a diverse range of departments that contribute to the overall success of our co-op: Accounting • Community Relations • Engineering • Facilities • Human Resources • Information Technology • Member Services • Operations • Operations Technology • Power Supply • Purchasing • Safety • System Operations
We are proud to provide energy and services to farms, ranches and rural communities in the Eagle Valley (Dotsero, Gypsum, Eagle, Edwards, Wolcott, Avon and Vail), Roaring Fork Valley (Carbondale, Basalt, Snowmass Village and Aspen), and the Colorado River Valley (New Castle, Silt, Rifle and Battlement Mesa). We serve some of Colorado’s major ski resorts located in the Aspen and Vail areas and other members in the tourist and outdoor recreation industry.
Our headquarters are located in Glenwood Springs and we have additional facilities in Gypsum and Avon, Colorado. We believe in being a conscientious steward of our natural resources, and have been a pioneer in leading several long-standing programs supporting efficiency, conservation and renewable energy.
