Save up to 50% on your monthly electric bill

We are excited to announce the next lottery and participation period for Sustainable Solar.

This program gives income-qualified members access to local clean energy, resulting in an up-to-50% reduction in their monthly electric bills.

There is no cost to you and no work or additional equipment added to your home. It is open to all Holy Cross Energy members who meet the income limits, whether you own your own home, rent a home, or live in a multi-family complex.

How it works

  • We give the energy from two solar arrays at our Gypsum Operations Facility to our members who need it the most.
  • If you’re selected in the lottery, you will receive two-years worth of access to this local clean energy, with bill savings up to 50%

Who can apply

  • Any HCE member whose income falls under 80% of their county’s Area Median Income (AMI)
  • Single-family homes, apartments, and mobile homes
  • Families, couples, individuals, and seniors

How to apply

  1. Fill out the application form below. 
  2. If you reside in income-qualified housing, or you already receive energy assistance from LEAP, LiHEAP, or CARE, you will be entered into the lottery with no additional steps needed.
  3. For all other members, we will follow up with you to request additional information to verify your household income.

Sustainable Solar Income Qualifications

For the 2025-2026 Participation Period

You qualify for the Sustainable Solar lottery if annual household income is less than 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) for your county.
