New Clean Energy Projects in 2024

2024 marks a significant milestone on our journey to providing our members with 100% clean energy by 2030.

Not only do these large-scale projects bring us closer to our clean energy goals, but they also bring significant power supply cost savings.

We anticipate that these partnerships will save our membership approximately $75 million over the next ten years compared to our previous power supply portfolio.  

Bronco Plains II Wind

  • 200 MW wind project
  • Estimated to generate power for up to 40,000 households annually.
  • Holy Cross Energy members will receive 150 MW of the plant’s output in the winter months and 100 MW in the summer months.
  • Developed by: NextEra Energy
  • Completion Date: Late 2023

Hunter Solar

  • 75 MW solar project
  • Estimated to generate power for up to 6,200 households annually
  • Holy Cross Energy members will receive 30 MW of energy from this project.
  • The remainder of the power produced will go to CORE Electric Cooperative on the front range.

  • Completion Date: Late 2023

High Mesa Solar + Storage

  • 10 MW solar
  • 20 MWh battery storage
  • Estimated to generate power for up to 2,800 households annually
  • Developed by AES Clean Energy
  • Anticipated Completion: Late 2024

Mamm Creek Solar + Storage

  • 10 MW solar
  • 20 MWh battery storage
  • Estimated to generate power for up to 2,800 households annually
  • Developed by AES Clean Energy
  • Anticipated Completion: 2025
