Every member has a voice—let yours be heard!
Voting begins today (5/7) for this year’s election, where we will elect two fellow members to the Holy Cross Energy Board of Directors.
All candidates can vote for one Northern District candidate and one Southern District candidate, regardless of where you live.
Voting is easy! Choose one of four ways to vote:
- By Mail (look for your paper ballot to arrive later this week)
- Online (emailed ballots are titled “Holy Cross Energy Director Election Login” and will be sent today from our third-party election supervisor)
- In SmartHub (either the app or web version)
- In-Person at the Annual Meeting on June 5
Visit our elections web page to read the candidate bios and Q&As.

Member Equity is your slice of the cooperative pie!
As a not-for-profit electric cooperative, we allocate any annual revenue that exceeds expenses back to our members in the form of Member Equity.
- Some of each year’s Member Equity is refunded to members the following year. So if you were a member in 2024, check your May bill for this refund bill credit!
- The rest is put into a reserve, used to maintain and improve our system, and is eventually paid back to those same members within 25 years.
Member Equity helps keep our rates affordable, by limiting our need to take out expensive loans!
Electricity is more expensive when the demand is high.
If we can reduce the amount of peak-time electricity we need to buy from wholesale power suppliers, we can pass savings on to our members who voluntarily reduce their electric use during those times.
By signing up for Peak Time Payback, you can:
- Earn bill credits for conserving electricity during specified peak times
- Help the co-op reduce our collective peak energy costs
- Enroll for free, with no cost to participate
Some of the best ways to earn these bill credits in the summer months?
- Set your A/C a few degrees warmer during the alert timeframe (you can even “pre-cool” your space beforehand)
- Delay your dishwasher to run after the alert timeframe
- If you cook with electric appliances, fire up that outdoor grill!
