Low rates & high standards: how we deliver more for less

From investing in fixed-cost, long-term clean energy projects to strengthening our grid for increased reliability and safety, we’re committed to doing everything we can to help our members keep more money in their pockets today and in the years to come.

  • Just how low are our rates? Currently, 99% of our residential members pay only $0.11 per kilowatt-hour of electricity, a rate that’s 33% lower than the national average of $0.165!

Now on our website, learn more from Vice President of Finance, Sam Whelan, about our commitment to keeping our costs down for our members.

Important safety protections to reduce wildfire risk

When fire conditions become significantly elevated in a certain part of our service territory, we enable more sensitive system settings that will cut power at line relays faster than normal settings. This greatly reduces the risk of wildfire ignition in the event that a tree or debris falls on the power line.

It also means that:

  • Outages are more likely to occur. These higher sensitivity settings also mean there is a greater chance of outages and short, momentary blinks in power.
  • Outages may last longer. When an outage occurs on a section of line while in fire protection mode, our crews must visually inspect the entire line and equipment before restoring power.

Safety will always guide our operations, and we thank you for your continued support and trust as we work to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.

Holy Cross Energy Lineworkers Help "Light Up Navajo"

Over 10,000 families living on the Navajo Nation do not have electricity. Led by the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority and the American Public Power Association, Light Up Navajo connects Navajo Nation homes to the modern electric grid.

This June, five of our lineworkers visited the Four Corners region to help. Thanks to the crew who volunteered a week of their time for this noble cause and for continuing our commitment to service and community.

There's still time to score tax credits before they expire!

Although home energy federal tax credits are coming to an end, you can still qualify for big savings if you make your purchases and complete installations by these dates:

  • September 30, 2025 – Electric Vehicles
  • December 31, 2025 – Home Energy Projects (including heat pumps for heating and cooling, heat pump water heaters, rooftop solar, battery energy storage, weatherization/insulation projects, and more)

Now’s the time to act if you’re looking to invest in your electric future!
