HCE’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee offers several scholarship opportunities for traditional and non-traditional students in our service territory.
The application period for our 2023 scholarships is now closed. We will announce new opportunities in early 2024.

LINEWORKER SCHOLARSHIP

WOMEN IN STEM SCHOLARSHIP

TRADE SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP
The application deadline for all four scholarships was April 17, 2023.
Students must be enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited undergraduate educational or training institution (in-state or out-of-state). Anyone with financial need is encouraged to apply, including those from marginalized communities, minorities, first-generation college students, and women.

Lineworker Scholarship
One scholarship of $5,000
For a student obtaining an Electric Lineworker Certificate at an approved school.
Qualifications:
- Currently, a high school senior graduating in May 2023 or previously graduated with a high school diploma or High Schoool Equivalency (HSE)
- Have an interest in a career as an electric lineworker
- Primary residence located in the HCE service territory (Pitkin, Garfield, and Eagle Counties)
- Must complete the online application
- Application deadline is April 17, 2023

First-Generation College Student Scholarships
Two scholarships in the amount of $2,500
Recognizing that first-generation students may need a little extra help getting funding for college tuition, HCE is providing two scholarships in the amount of $2,500 each for first-generation college students, meaning the first in their family to attend college or university.
Qualifications:
- Currently a high school senior graduating in May 2023 or previously graduated with a high school diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE)
- Primary residence located in the HCE service territory (Pitkin, Garfield, and Eagle Counties)
- Must complete the online application
- Application deadline is April 17, 2023

Women in STEM Scholarship
One scholarship of $2,500
Recognizing the gender disparity in the STEM fields, HCE is offering one $2,500 scholarship to a female student pursuing a college degree in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).
Qualifications:
- Currently a high school senior graduating in May 2023 or previously graduated with a high school diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE)
- Primary residence located in the HCE service territory (Pitkin, Garfield, and Eagle Counties)
- Must complete the online application
- Application deadline is April 17, 2023

Trade School Scholarship
One scholarship in the amount of $2,500
HCE is providing one $2,500 scholarship to a student pursuing a degree or certification from a technical or vocational program.
Qualifications:
- Currently a high school senior graduating in May 2023 or previously graduated with a high school diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE).
- Primary residence located in the HCE service territory (Pitkin, Garfield, and Eagle Counties)
- Must complete the online application
