Holy Cross Energy voters have elected Larissa Read of Edwards to the open Northern District seat on the board of directors.
Read is the founder of Common Ground Consulting, LLC, which provides planning, facilitation, and project management services to environmental, nonprofit and government organizations. She co-facilitated the Climate Action Plan for the Eagle County community, as well as the stakeholder engagement for the City of Aspen Climate Action Plan. She currently serves as board chair for the Eagle River Watershed Council.
Prior to opening her own business, she worked in public service for 14 years, for the National Park Service and the Boulder County (Colorado) Parks and Open Space Department. She has a B.A. in Biology and an M.S. in Environmental Science (through a Presidential Fellowship) from the University of Virginia, and is trained in Wilderness First Aid.
For Read, being on the board is another opportunity for her to serve the community and continue to support HCE down a path toward a clean energy future. Read will serve on the governance and strategic issues committees.
In her free time she enjoys trail running, cooking, mountain biking with her husband, and just about everything living in the valley has to offer.
The board consists of seven directors who are elected to represent three geographic districts: The Western District with one director, the Northern District with four directors and Southern District with two directors.
