Walking our Talkholy cross energy solar on campus glenwood springs partner powerfield

Our commitment to renewable energy sources continues as we develop two new solar energy projects at our Glenwood Springs headquarters.

Powerfield

HCE will act as a pilot site for Powerfield Energy, a new technology and process for installing ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. Powerfield Energy systems are not permanent installations and can be rapidly deployed, making them a portable solution for individuals and businesses who prefer a less permanent solution to traditionally mounted PV systems.

Sunsense

HCE will also be outfitting solar panels to the top of our cold storage building to expand our renewable footprint. Through a competitive bidding process, Carbondale-based solar designer and installer Sunsense was chosen for the installation. The panels, which will be visible from Highway 82, will help offset energy used at headquarters.

We look forward to reporting back to our members the outcome of these two exciting projects and the amount of energy provided from the panels to HCE headquarters in Glenwood Springs.
