What does a typical day look like for you?
I usually start with Linemen stopping by the warehouse to get the materials needed for the day. They don’t just take though; they leave me with valuable life lessons, stock tips, and amazing examples of “what not to do” that help me flourish at work and at home.
Then it’s just normal warehouse work: inventory control, keeping up with facilities maintenance, learning the crane on our delivery truck with Jim, and dialing in all the details with the help of Josh B.
What’s the best part of your job?
I enjoy the team comradery that comes with this position. The relationships that I’m building here feel genuine and sincere.
Is there anything that surprised you about working for an electric co-op that you didn’t know before working here?
I guess the realization about where people get power. It’s something just taken for granted in this day and age. There’s a lot of hard work involved just so I can make my coffee each morning.
What do you like to do in your free time? Spend time with my wife and our amazing 9-year-old daughter. We are often found on the local rivers in our kayaks or up in the mountains letting gravity take effect. We are always looking for places that aren’t in cell service.
What’s an interesting fact about yourself? I find peace and tranquility in the middle of a class IV rapid.
