When HCE members choose to round up their electricity bill to the nearest dollar, the whole community benefits. How? Those funds are used to assist schools, youth programs, community clubs, nonprofit organization and specific individual needs across our territory in Eagle, Garfield and Pitkin Counties. The average contribution per member in the Round Up Foundation program is less than $15 annually.
All applications for funding are determined and distributed by a board of citizen directors. Funding is focused on schools, youth programs, community clubs, non-profit organizations and specific individual needs.
In 2019, donations totaling $57,254 were provided to a number of community organizations, including:
- Aspen Dance Connection
- Community Garden of Glenwood Springs
- Defiance Rugby Club
- Eagle Valley Child Care Association
- Food Rescue Express
- Gypsum Creek Middle School
- Hard Scrabble Trail Coalition
- KSUN Community Radio
- Lift Up Organization (5 towns)
- Raising a Reader – Aspen to Parachute
- Rifle Animal Shelter
- River View Elementary School
- Roaring Fork Music Society
