Ace Hardware of Carbondale – 1011 Highway 133, Carbondale; (970) 963-6663; accepts compact fluorescent lights (CFLs) and incandescent holiday strings.

Alpine Bank – all branches in Holy Cross territory will take compact fluorescent lights (CFLs)

Lowes and Home Depot – free disposal of compact fluorescent lights (CFLs) and may take 4 and 8 foot fluorescents. Call your local retailer to inquire what they will take.

Brite Ideas Bulb Recycling – call Cody at (513) 504-6887; accept all bulbs that contain mercury (fluorescents, compact fluorescent lights (CFLSs), high pressure sodium, mercury vapor, metal halide) and accepts electronic and magnetic ballasts. R&A Enterprises – 5317 County Road 154 Suite 201, Glenwood Springs; (970) 945-6500. Call ahead and ask for Jim in the warehouse. Accepts fluorescents, HID lamps, and all ballasts. Pick up services can be arranged.

Region 8 Enviro – 4810 Newport St, Commerce City; (877) 331-2149; Provides containers and pick up for a fee; Accepts fluorescent, Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL’s), High Intensity Discharge Lamps (HID’s), U-tube, and other mercury-containing lamps as well as numerous other items. http://www.r8enviro.com

Refrigerator Recycling

Hi Grade Recycling – located in Dotsero; (888) 580-5990; $20 fee for Freon removal; services Roaring Fork Valley, west to Rifle, and Vail Valley.

Trinity Recycling – 585 Lindbergh Drive, Eagle; (970) 328-5051; $5 fee for Freon removal, will pay cash for metal from refrigerator based on weight. Consumer must deliver refrigerator. They pick up only large quantities.
